Italy’s Companies and Exchange Commission (CONSOB) has ordered the blocking of access to nine unauthorized investment websites in Italy, including SpreadMarkets (spread-markets.com and client.spread-markets.com), BitVex (bit-vex.com), and AFEX Markets (afex-markets.com and web-traderx.com), among others. This action allows CONSOB to instruct internet service providers to restrict access to websites offering financial services without proper authorization, protecting investors from potential fraud.
Since July 2019, CONSOB has blocked a total of 1,408 websites, highlighting its ongoing efforts to regulate unauthorized financial operations. The regulator advises investors to exercise caution and verify the authorization of financial operators before investing to safeguard their savings, as these blocked websites were operating without the necessary legal permissions.
